It is quite a pinky beige, not too ‘concealer lips’ like many lipsticks in that category can be. Velvet Teddy is described by MAC as a ‘deep tone beige’ and it is a matte finish. Then recently I was at NZ Fashion Weekend and there was a MAC stall…so of course I popped in and finally laid eyes on Velvet Teddy in person, and the rest is history! I got the Whirl lip pencil as well because the MAC makeup artist applied the two of them together for me, and it looked so nice that I couldn’t resist. Velvet Teddy is her go-to lipstick and whenever I saw her wearing it I would say to myself ‘I really should buy that’. For me, the reason I was inspired to buy these is actually due to Youtuber Brittney Lee Saunders.

This is perfect to pair with dark eyeshadows too, or in my case, a dramatic eye liner. I hope that MAC brings it here too because it will definitely be a bestseller especially for those who love to keep their makeup subtle. It is definitely a perfect everyday nude lip color. MAC Taupe is a muted reddish-taupe or brown which obviously looks deeper than Velvet Teddy. Just for comparison, I swatched Velvet Teddy and Taupe on my arm. Velvet Teddy is somewhat like Wet N Wild Bare it All but a little warmer. It is not exactly my lip shade but it helps even it out, and gives a hint of color. Gladly, Velvet Teddy does not wash me out. Unfortunately, this shade is not sold in the local counters of the Philippines. I bought mine from they had it is stock, for Php 850, if I recall correctly. MAC Velvet Teddy is a “deep-tone beige” on the MAC Website, and retails for $16. Other MAC products that she wore were MAC Lip Pencils in Whirl, and Soar.
One of the most popular lipstick shades that I hear a lot of is the MAC Velvet Teddy because of “Kylie Jenner”who I think wore it a lot on her Instagram page.
I rarely wear lip liners and I don’t really want to look extra pouty. Aside from that, overlining the lips is popular too which I am not really into.
However, the 90’s trend is in, and a lot celebrities and beauty vloggers are wearing browns, nudes, and beige lip colors with their makeup looks. Bright and bold lipsticks are my favorites! I find that wearing them flatters my skin tone really well, and they make me feel extra glamorous.
